Why Greater Tampa Bay?
I’ve been in the Greater Tampa Bay area for 10 years now. I started out living and working in Tampa, and then I started working in St. Pete and moved to St. Pete, and now I work in Clearwater. So, I’ve lived and worked in all areas of the bay. I have friends in all of them and am involved in the community at all of them, so I travel around the bay area quite a bit.
I fell in love with the Florida lifestyle. I grew up in North Carolina and grew up vacationing in Florida, and I travelled all over the state. The energy and excitement, the connection that I’ve had with young professionals in the area and all the families that are flocking to the bay area to raise their families here give it this unique energy, but I also love it because it’s still got that flip flop, Tommy Bahama lifestyle. If you want that quiet escape, there are so many parks in this area where you can just get away. You can have the peace just sitting on the beach and looking at the surf and the sunsets, and then you can drive over to the exciting nightlife in downtown St. Pete or Tampa.
The most overused phrase in marketing is that there’s something for everyone here, but I just can’t capture it any other way. Bored is never a word I have used living in Greater Tampa Bay, whether it’s fitness activities, watersports, dining or shopping. Back when I was a single, young professional, or now that I’m married with a family, there is always something fun, new and exciting to experience here. We live where people vacation, and to be able to have access to paradise — I love that I can literally watch the sun rise on one end of the bay and drive over to watch the sun set over that sugar sand and blue waters at the end of the day. There’s so much excitement, energy and potential that exists here in the bay area.
Each corner of this community has its own unique personality, and to be able to have so many varieties of experiences within such a short drive time, right here in our own backyard, you really just can’t ask for anything better. Dunedin is so different from Safety Harbor or from Tampa. I am constantly amazed at the immersion opportunity. We have such a diverse community that live here, too. The exposure to different types of people, different personalities, different areas of interest, all in one place just blows me away.
All the potential that exists in Greater Tampa Bay for continued development and growth that we can do in a smart way, the opportunity for better interconnectedness with some transportation — it’s so exciting and energizing, but yet still holds so much potential for where we can go. It gets me really excited.
