Why Greater Tampa Bay?
I have lived in Greater Tampa Bay for about two years, and the opportunity at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, is what originally brought me to the area. However, many other factors interested me about the region, including how innovative and forward-looking it is. There is a smaller town feel, but with the big-town cultural opportunities.
I love how tolerant and open people are in this area. I also love the vibrant downtown environment, art galleries, outdoor lifestyle and, of course, the gulf and the sunshine!
The opportunity to help build children’s health care services at an internationally recognized organization helps me feel as though I’m enhancing my professional skills, mainly as we help improve children’s health in the community through collaboration with other entities.
What do you envision beyond Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital?
I think it’s so important to foster connections with other community entities, such as the Innovation Center — all this has just started, but it’s only the beginning! I envision great things for the future, working with the community, surrounding children and families with an environment that supports them to be healthy, joyful and successful — and to draw children in need of complex care from all over the world.
