Brandon Business Community

The Greater Brandon area is Tampa’s most populous suburb, a growing community and an excellent place for families. The residential sector is seeing significant growth, with living and housing costs being relatively inexpensive in Brandon. The suburb is a 10-minute drive to downtown Tampa yet also a 10-minute drive to the more rural Eastern Hillsborough County.

However, Brandon is so much more than simply a great and convenient place to live. A city within a city, it has many attractions and shopping destinations that draw numerous visitors year-round. Its largest industries — health care, finance & insurance and retail trade — all continue to experience growth.

Greater Brandon’s business community includes a good mix of mom-and-pop businesses and recognizable chains. It is a place where family-owned businesses can start up and create their own success stories. An example of this is Three Bulls Tavern & Brewery, which has become a very popular local hangout and a successful business since its opening in 2019.

Greater Brandon is the proud home of popular attractions, including the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, TopGolf and Dave & Buster’s. The beautiful, open-air Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheater and Florida State Fairgrounds both host highly anticipated entertainment, including concerts by well-known music acts and the Florida State Fair each February. Between the numerous events and year-round attractions, Greater Brandon’s steady stream of visitors contribute greatly to the local economy.

Shoppers flock to Brandon from around Greater Tampa Bay and beyond to visit Greater Tampa Bay’s only Bass Pro Shops store, as well as the Westfield Brandon Mall. The mall has more than 150 stores and 25 dining options at a convenient location between Interstate 75, the Selmon Expressway and Brandon’s main thoroughfare, State Road 60, or Brandon Boulevard.

Transportation is a hot topic in Brandon. The extension of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway into Brandon in 2021 made it possible to drive to and from St. Petersburg without hitting a stop light. The extension is not only a huge benefit to the commuter workforce, but it also brings a big boost to area businesses. More travelers from elsewhere in GTB now travel into Brandon with ease.
