CT Mechanical: Committed to Community

Prior to 1985, Tom and Lucy Worthmann saw a need for an exceptional heating, ventilation and air conditioning company to serve North Central Florida. They founded Comfort Temp Heating & Air that year upon a set of core values: That their positive image, professional behavior and strong relationships will always be important to the company’s success and clients’ satisfaction. That philosophy guides them in providing professional and honest service they extend to clients, employees and the community at large.

The Worthmann’s instilled their family values in their son, Erik, who has been working for Comfort Temp since its founding. Through bringing exceptional service and peace of mind to all their clients, the Comfort Temp family flourished over the years, with the team tackling larger and more complex projects and spreading out from their Gainesville base.

As Comfort Temp grew, so did Erik’s dreams for his parents’ company, as he realized he had a bigger vision for what Comfort Temp could be. So, in 2009, Erik founded CT Mechanical, a full-service mechanical and plumbing contractor that develops and creates comfortable spaces in new buildings such as schools, hospitals, shopping centers, grocery stores and government buildings. CT Mechanical operates under the Comfort Temp Company umbrella.

Throughout every step of their growth, Comfort Temp’s commitment to their core values have only become stronger. Erik and Christine Worthmann keep his parents’ vision alive, bringing creativity and attention to detail to every job and going above and beyond to provide comfort and lasting peace of mind.

SERVICE THAT STANDS OUT

CT Mechanical has a strong philosophy on service. They know clients depend on quality work for their well-being and budget, so they practice caution in their promises. If CT Mechanical says it, the client can consider it done.

Clients can rest easy knowing that CT Mechanical will never rush through their services, and that they will have the technician’s full attention. CT Mechanical’s experienced and knowledgeable technicians take time to answer any questions or address any concerns their clients may have, delivering peace of mind to their clients.

Mechanical and plumbing projects can be a complex puzzle with pieces of different shapes, sizes and conditions. The nuances of architecture, engineering and technology make systems installation and maintenance part art, part science. CT Mechanical has experts in many different areas eager to tackle any challenge and provide a customized service.

Walk into a building serviced by CT Mechanical, and the air feels so natural and comfortable, you probably would not notice it. Turn on a faucet, and the water will be just right, from the pressure and flow down to the heating and cooling.

Most clients will never realize the extraordinary efforts and careful calculations CT Mechanical takes to make mechanical and plumbing systems work exceptionally well, but that is okay with CT Mechanical. They do not go the extra mile for recognition. They do it to ensure the comfort and safety of anyone and everyone who enters that building.

CT Mechanical’s dependable, quality service has brought them organic growth to the Tampa Bay area. Businesses in Tampa know they can rely on CT Mechanical for their mechanical and plumbing needs, including Foresight Construction Group.

In their 10-year partnership with Foresight, CT Mechanical has provided mechanical services for more than 50 commercial projects in Tampa Bay and around Florida, including Hillsborough County Public Schools. CT Mechanical always delivers professional service and excellent workmanship with a get-it-done mentality that results in exceptional systems each and every time.

“We look forward to many more projects together,” stated Juan Segarra, President and CEO of Foresight.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Erik and Christine Worthmann lead the company with a strong emphasis on culture, based on the solid foundation built by Tom and Lucy Worthmann. That includes the team’s passion for giving back in the communities they serve and investing in their employees.

Giving back to communities is simply part of the CT Mechanical culture, and always has been. The company supports more than 30 nonprofits, including Junior Achievement; Gigi’s Play House, which supports people with Down Syndrome; the SW Advocacy Group, which helps improve the quality of life for those in need in Southwest Gainesville; Tyler’s Hope for a Dystonia Cure; Catholic Charities; and Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

The CT Mechanical team also honors communities with time and effort through fundraisers, toy and food drives, donations, and chef opportunities with the local Ronald McDonald House.

Director of human resources, public relations and marketing, Soly Schrack, commends CT Mechanical for the positive, family-oriented atmosphere, and how the company truly cares for its employees and the communities they serve.

A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE

Valuing employees and investing in them is a big part of being in the Comfort Temp family. Comfort Temp keeps alive what Tom Worthmann said many years ago: “The men and women working with us are an extension of our family.”

Erik continues that mantra, believing that the company’s success is due, in no small way, to its employees. The Worthmann’s sincerely wish for every employee to succeed and grow, and to develop a long and fulfilling career with Comfort Temp. In turn, the company will also grow and succeed as well.

One of Comfort Temp’s core values is to nurture employee relationships. The company hosts quarterly Team Culture Days, an initiative that brings teams of 10 to 20 together to simply kick back, relax and have fun. Employees receive a full day’s pay for Team Culture Days. The team votes on a fun event, and the company schedules and arranges it, plus pays for lunch.

If one of the company employees falls on hard times, he or she will surely see Erik, Christine and the whole staff come together to lessen the load for their coworker, just as a family would.

The result is satisfied, educated and confident employees who enjoy going to work. Branding and fleet manager, Beth Doan, said the friendly, family-oriented atmosphere made her feel like part of the family from day one.

“I never felt like just a number or a paycheck. I do feel part of a big, family that truly cares about each of us, not only professionally but personally as well. They want us to grow and succeed,” she said.

TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN

There are many ways CT Mechanical invests in their team. One of these is continued training. Senior staff at CT Mechanical or certified instructors lead many in-house training opportunities to support employees’ growth in their trade. Employees benefit from Comfort Temp’s numerous relationships with industry vendors, who offer their training programs, keeping technicians on the cutting edge of new technology or advancements in systems.

A career with Comfort Temp starts with common workplace benefits, including medical, dental, vision, uniforms, supplemental insurances, a 401K plan with company matching, holiday pay and vacation time. The company does not stop there, also giving employees gifts for summertime, at Christmas and for their birthdays. Comfort Temp gives employees gift cards to help buy their family’s Thanksgiving meals.

A position with Comfort Temp includes a substantial tool account, which eliminates the financial burden of a large purchase by spreading the cost out through small, weekly deductions from their paycheck.

Despite the continued growth of Comfort Temp Company, their core values still hold strong, as their mission statement says it all:

Comfort Is Our Business. Peace of Mind is Our Promise.
