Jessica Muroff is the CEO of United Way Suncoast. The nonprofit seeks to improve lives and create lasting community change by mobilizing people in the community to give, advocate and volunteer. It also provides pathways to education and financial stability so that everyone in the community has the freedom to rise.
I was born in Texas because my dad was in the United States Air Force. I moved to Tampa when I was a toddler. Both of my parents were born and raised here as were my siblings. We love the Greater Tampa Bay area!
I graduated from Plant City High School and received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida, so that was the best foundation right here in the bay area. One of my favorite annual events is the Florida Strawberry Festival. I grew up working at it and going to it. It is such a fun and memorable tradition for me and my family.
The GTB area offers everything and it is truly the best place to live, work, learn and play. As the leader of a regional nonprofit, I love how our social sector partners work together to support so many in our community.
See AlsoI have also been very involved in the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, Tampa Bay Partnership and the Nonprofit Leadership Center. My involvement in the GTB community has given me the experience and opportunities that have shaped my career. I am grateful for the relationships I’ve continued to build over the last two decades. We’ve been able to work together and enhance the vitality of our region.
