The 2023 Michelin Guide has announced that two local spots have been honored with Bib Gourmand awards: Gorkhali Kitchen and Psomi. The Bib Gourmand is awarded to restaurants that offer “exceptionally good food at moderate prices,” and these two top restaurants have made the list.
Gorkhali Kitchen is a Himalayan restaurant featuring Nepalese cuisine. Michelin Inspectors recommended dishes such as momo, the “iconic Nepalese dumplings,” and “falling-off-the-bone tender and savory” goat specialties on their menu.
Psomi, a comfort-food restaurant run by second-generation Greek-American Christina Theofilos was also featured on this top-tier list. The Michelin Guide described the menu as being “laced with Greek items ranging from flavorful and tender octopus ceviche to house-made dolmades that display an added level of care.”
While these two restaurants have received Bib Gourmand awards, Lilac, Noble Rice and Ponte are still in the running to receive Michelin stars.
The winners will be announced Thursday, May 11, at the Michelin Guide Ceremony in Miami.
