Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital once again ranked as a best children’s hospital by U.S. News & World Report.
The hospital ranked nationally in four specialty areas, led by the neurology and neurosurgery program. This program achieved the hospital’s highest ranking ever. The 2022-2023 list ranked Johns Hopkins All Children’s among the top 50 nationally in Neurology and Neurosurgery (No. 18) Diabetes and Endocrinology (No. 34), Nephrology (No. 34) and Orthopaedics (No. 50).
Johns Hopkins All Children’s was once again the only children’s hospital in the Tampa Bay area and along Florida’s West Coast named to the list. Each year, the rankings are designed to assist families in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions.
“We are proud and honored to provide expert care to our community’s children and families in a variety of specialties,” says Alicia Schulhof, president of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. “Our teams have met many challenges in recent years, and we are humbled by honors like this.”
The selection for this list includes factors such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as health equity and available clinical resources, compliance with best practices, and efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion among patients and staff. This year, the magazine collected and analyzed data from 119 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists.
Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore ranked nationally in 10 specialty areas. Since joining the Johns Hopkins Health System in 2011, specialists at All Children’s have collaborated with colleagues in Baltimore on a variety of treatment and research initiatives.
